Ottani Meccanica is pleased to announce that will participate in the screening process desired by the Emilia Romagna region and will allow to be carried out the serological test for Covid 19 to all the staff who will formally adhere to the initiative
These tests are used to identify all those people who have come into contact with the virus by “telling” the history of the disease.
It consists in taking a small blood sample which, analyzed in a laboratory approved by the Region itself, will determine if the person has produced antibodies and, therefore, has come into contact with the virus.
Serological tests are looking for IgM and IgG antibodies (immunoglobulins). IgM are produced temporally first in case of infection. Over time, their level drops to leave room for IgG. When the latter, IgG, are detected in the blood, it means that the infection has already occurred for some time and the person tends to be immune to the virus.
Warning: the test doesn’t have an absolute value. In case of a positive outcome for IgM antibodies, the person must also carry out the oropharyngeal swab at the competent USL offices. Only after the latter will he have the security of being positive or not against the Virus.
We would like to inform you that the serological test will not, for any reason, replace the use of DPI and the safety prescriptions implemented in recent weeks.
